General : Gone but not for long
Posted by Darkvengance on 2012/1/31 6:12:59 (111 reads)

So I know that I've been gone from a bunch of my regular places for a while, however during my absence I discovered the incredible usefulness of a little service called github. Now I know that most of you reading this are probably rolling your eyes, but in short...I DON'T CARE. End of story. Anyways, you can find the projects that I am currently working on, developing, or helping with over there. Be sure to check it regularly as the larger projects that I work on can be found there during development before they are released here!

Security : Debit Card PINs
Posted by Darkvengance on 2012/1/6 1:17:42 (79 reads)

Ok, so I was bored and for some random reason got to thinking about debit and credit cards. During my time pondering I was wondering, since debit cards have PIN numbers if a malicious attacker managed to get ahold of that card and attempt to use it (before it was reported) what are the odds to them "guessing" the PIN?

Well now it's time for math:

Tech : The Freenet Project
Posted by Darkvengance on 2012/1/5 6:12:49 (121 reads)

Ok, so I've been hearing a lot about this new policy congress was trying to pass through (SOPA) and naturally, me being me, I didn't really feel all that concerned. But I've done some thinking on the topic and realized that the United States controls all of the internet! I mean think about it, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), aka the people who assign domain names, is a company based out of California; not to mention that about 78% of the worlds DNS servers are in the USA.

So basically if this were to pass the United States government could shut down any site they wanted, for practically any reason. So this got me thinking...what the hell would I do without the internet!?! Yeh, bit of an over-reaction, but none-the-less, this jump-started my idea to create a completely free alternative to the internet...

Programming : DarkFrame - PHP Framework Release
Posted by Darkvengance on 2011/12/1 2:00:00 (132 reads)

DarkFrame is a PHP framework designed for use in PHP web applications. Darkframe was programmed with simplicity in mind, and has a user-friendly interface for those that are inexperiance with MVC frameworks.

It uses the Smarty template engine in order to keep all code out of the views and to assist in speeding up compile time by also offering cacheing.

Notes:

DarkFrame is currently in the Alpha stages of development and is not (yet) intended for use in web applications. There are tons of bugs and security holes in the current release, feel free to use the code to start building your own framework or just use it for educational purposes.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Sorry for the absence of my website from the web for the past month. I was unable to pay my web-hosting until this month, but it's back up now, and I do not foresee any more problems in the near future. For all the new-comers: welcome to my site and feel free to have a look around!
